A group of teenagers returning from an Apologetics conference discovered that being a faithful witness often comes down to simple, quiet obedience.

Equipped with fresh arguments and eager to defend their faith, the students were rushing down the streets of West Palm Beach toward their hotel. Their church van was waiting, and their minds were focused on the long drive home. But as they hurried past a park bench, they spotted a homeless man huddled under a heavy, soiled coat, holding a worn cardboard sign that read simply: Hungry.

At first, momentum kept them moving, but almost in unison, the group froze in their tracks. Realizing that God doesn’t always ask for a high-level debate with intellectuals, they turned back. From their conference tote bags, they pulled out peanut butter cookies and a “Good News to the World” tract. Returning beside the bench, they handed him the food, shared a warm smile, and reminded him that Jesus loved him—leaving him with both physical nourishment and a message of hope.

How can you share the Gospel in an unexpected way?

Keep small gift cards for food, care packages, or bottles of cold water in your car or bag to offer immediately to those in need.

When a friend, coworker, or stranger mentions a struggle, ask directly: “Can I pray for you right now?

Leave a generous tip for a server along with a brief, encouraging note thanking them and sharing a message of God’s love.

Show genuine, patient interest in someone’s story without rushing to debate—building trust often opens the door for meaningful spiritual conversations.

Wear or carry items that naturally invite questions about your faith, or share personal stories of gratitude on social media instead of arguments.
