Family bonding around a campfire in the woods, embracing nature and quality time.

Summer can be a wonderful season for slowing down, enjoying the warm weather, and making meaningful connections with family, friends, and even new faces. However, schedules often get jammed with travel, family get-togethers, community events and just enjoying the outdoors. That being said, it is also a perfect opportunity to share the gospel of Jesus Christ and the difference that He makes in your life!

Sharing your faith with family and friends can sometimes feel intimidating, but life events or church activities offer natural, low-pressure opening conversations. Whether you’re inviting them to a special church event, celebrating a personal milestone, or simply catching up, sharing your personal experience of how Jesus has carried you through life can open the door for deeper conversations.

Sharing your faith with strangers can also have a different feeling of intimidation. However, if you take the opportunity to offer a friendly smile, a hand of help or support, and a listening ear, you oftentimes create an avenue to ask if you can pray with someone, ask if you can share how Jesus helped you through a similar situation or maybe even share the steps of salvation with them!

The Simple ABCs of Salvation

When those opportunities arise, keeping the message simple and clear can make all the difference:

A – Admit: Acknowledge that you are a sinner in need of a Savior. (Romans 3:23)

B – Believe: Believe that Jesus died for your sins and rose again. (John 3:16)

C – Confess: Confess Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Savior. (Romans 10:9)

You don’t need to have all the answers—just share your authentic story and how Jesus has changed your perspective and life. Be open and honest and God will do the rest!
